Holy Relic
Holy moly, this used to belong to a powerful paladin. Your attacks on undead and demons now stun and burn them with holy fire!
Unholy Sacrifice
Sacrifices caster's life instantly to an old god who will destroy and enemy of your choice after 5 turns. Equipping this, prevents you from resurrecting.
Grave Marker
This relic applies an extinction debuff on all enemies! If a target is killed with this debuff, they cannot resurrect.
Reaper Curse
At the end of duration, does 10% of target's max health. Max stacks: 10 Refreshing stacks will activate curse damage. Also reduces healing. (Cannot be removed)

To emerge victorious from the Deadlands, seek out Gwen. Convince her to share her secrets of the undead. Especially the skill that grants you the power to keep the dead... dead.
Gwen's Story
Gwen was a mage studying in Spug City while her brother Atticus joined the Spug City paladin order. On one of his first quests, Atticus went with a party of paladins to destroy a Hellgate that had appeared in the Deadlands. Unfortunately, the demons which appeared were much stronger than reported, and Atticus and his whole party disappeared, presumed dead. After hearing the news, Gwen became obsessed with killing the demons who murdered her brother, fleeing Spug City to study the forbidden art of necromancy. Eventually, she found an original copy of the infamous Book of the Dead and transcended her mortal limitations to become a lich, a powerful undead necromancer. Her mastery of the dark arts now complete, Gwen scoured the Deadlands for any trace of the demons she had sworn to destroy. However, the Hellgate sensed her presence and hid itself, frustrating her efforts. Even worse, the very same paladin order her brother had joined declared her an abomination and placed a sizable bounty on her head, forcing her to fight off countless bounty hunters and would-be heroes. Unable to either complete her vengeance or give up, Gwen settled in the Deadlands, hoping to find any clue to the Hellgate’s location. Shortly after discovering a promising lead, Gwen got a call from Reggie about a party of bounty hunters looking for the Zombie Sisters, and agreed to guide them through the Deadlands in exchange for their help.
Improvements & Fixes
Skill info now includes whether it is a “Physical” or “Magical” attack.
Gwen hero reward and Book Of the Undead skill moved to the Deadlands. No longer available from Colosseum or Cragkeep boss. Miltonius and Death (DEV) skill rewards removed from Cragkeep boss. Moving towards a more pure play through of the game. Cheats are still available.
Cragkeep’s zone boss now drops Dwarf King Crag as a “first time” drop reward. Meaning, he will not drop if you’ve already beaten him. Will require a reset.
Grove Fairy nerfs: Lowered health. Poison does 1% (Was 5%) of max health. Max stacks: 10
Nyssa’s zone 1 node incentive fixed. Name change caused bug where you could not complete incentive.
Moro and Okami now drop as level 25. Were dropping as level 1.
Custom Skill Updates
Speed Demon: Add 2 turn cooldown.
Cheap Shot: Added 3 turn cooldown and physical damage restriction.
Tempest Storm: Removed from all shops. Obtainable only as a reward. Added 3 turn cooldown. Burn DoT removed.
Undead Re-Assaulted
Do you know where this monster is from? The return of an iconic undead monster....
Custom Skill Changes
Rage: Damage increased from 10% to 20%. Max Stacks: 20
Gain extra rage when critically hit.
Titan Wall gives titan defense to whole team for 2 turns.
Vampirism no longer has a cooldown for consuming blood on your target to heal.
Extras
New transition flight background art for: Cragkeep, Halcyon and Deadlands.
Spug Arena: Tecnic now has first time encounter dialogue.
Colosseum: Removed Elf Cultist and Privateer from final boss spawn. Chance for multiple boss spawns lowered on all waves. Chance of Lich Queen/Death Matriarch spawns lowered. Upon wave 3, gain gold and a random lvl 20 heroic rune.
Marion Magic Missiles description fixed. “Fires 5 magic missiles at random targets. The first target hit will have damage amplified against them.”
When the Dreadfiend boss is defeated, all his allies will die.
Removed Death Curse from player Dreadfiend, Atticus’s, ultimate attack.
Removed “Extinction” attacks from paladins.
Stoneshore’s “Gateway” node difficulty toned down. Bosses only immune to stun. Minion spawns are weaker.
Grammar fixes discovered by testers.

The Halcyon Forest Released! - Akumi Wars Part 4
The Halcyon Forest was just released. This entire 4th area with new story, skills, and monsters is now available for backers of Akumi Wars on Steam!
Within you will find Elves, Magic, and Fairies...
Beware the Fairy droppings.
The Halcyon Forest
The forest has the most unique variety of monsters in the game so far.
There is a Unicorn hidden in the forest that will grant you wishes....
This was the first time I animated a horse.
About those Fairy droppings....
If you collect the fairy stuff and grind it to power, you can turn it into a Fairy "pet" that will increase your magic power. Well, they look like pets! They are actually back items that just look like pets. They look cool but are only visible in battle.
Archer
Also the forest time I ever intricately animated a character shooting a bow. I added the sound fx to the bow. It is really satisfying to play as this character when you pull the string back and let it lose. It feels good to shoot the bow.
Marion
Marion is a powerful arcanist. Alas, she's been manipulated by a demon aura. Snap her out of it, and you just might convince her to join your crew. However, her armament of spells is not to be taken lightly. This new character was designed for the custom backer, Bobbq (Kuppa Games)!
Gilda
I started drawing a sketch of a fantasy female dwarf. But I kept making her legs longer. The end result... meet Gilda!
Gilda' Shop
Gilda's new shop will open once you beat the final boss of Zone 3 "The Crag Keep Mountains." She sells mostly tech items.
NEW SKILLS!
There are a ton of new skills you can get from defeating bosses or shops. There is at least one secret shop in the Fairy forest with some incredibly powerful skills.
Arcane Blast
Mages have always found ways to manipulate energy. Your damage gains you magic defense. Activate to launch an arcane blast that does 60% of your magic defenses as damage. Will cause knockdown, killing a target will cause extinction. (Cannot Miss)
Tempest Storm
Lighting strikes the lowest health enemy doing 30% of their max health as damage, burning them with a chance to stun. It can also reveal stealth targets. (Cannot Miss)
Water Elf
This healer only appears once. If you go down one of the alternate paths towards the unicorn, you will encounter her. She can heal and resurrect.
Andrariel the Demon
She has a cult of unkillable followers. But you know that old story about the demon snake. Cut off the demon-snake's head and the followers are soon to follow.
Mareoceu
Mareoceu is the Warden of the Tree of Life. This protector of Halcyon forest and their chicken ally may be compelled to join your crew of Bounty Hunters if defeated.

The deadliest technology in the Hex Realm was invented by Dwarves. Rumor has it they were responsible for creating the Timeless Titan which was seen in Spug City. Brace for mechs, robots, & power suits in this tech-filled frozen wasteland.
New Map
Explore new nodes in the CragKeep Mountains. But, you will only see the first few nodes. The others are invisible until you progress through the story or discover how to unlock secret nodes.

Secret Nodes?
Yup. There's at least one secret node hidden in each area. For example, go to Sprug City and battle through the Coliseum using each of the classes to unlock a great reward. As of this post, only 3 people have done it so far.

Rain, Thunderstorm, Snow, & Blizzards! Akumi War's programmer, Arctulius (Tulio's new name), added new particle systems to spice up the combat visuals.
New Victory Screen
It now includes stats so you can see which of your crew is slacking.
Gem System
You can equip gems. They are like skills. Power up your characters using gems.
Power up your Gems
Merge lesser Gems into more powerful ones.
Runes
Equip Runes to give your cast of Bounty Hunters a boost.
FULL PATCH NOTES
Bounty Hunter Passive (Hunter Mark: Hitting humans and droids mark them to take extra damage.)
Paladin Passive (Paladin: Undead targets will be stunned and burned when attacked.)
Dreadlord: Tirax will leech extra life from human targets with his attack and cause all enemies to be poisoned!
3rd Zone complete: Cragkeep Mountains.
New prologue starting characters: Jade, Max and Akumi Huntress.
Most heroes and enemies have skill kit updates.
Guardians now gain “Rage” when hit, increasing damage. All Guardians get “Ironhide” Increasing defenses and resistances as they get hit. Allowing them to eventually resist most status effects. They also have a taunt on their default attack with a 2 turn cooldown.
Chaz has a new armor skin and gains a personal custom skill that allows him to take 100% damage that would go to an ally upon himself. No cooldown.
Demonkiss Shade’s ultimates now do piercing damage. Demonkiss’s default attack pierces and Demonkiss Shade special attack also pierces. Piercing attacks hit all enemies the projectile touches. Possible to hit one target twice with a single projectile.
New Characters: Max, Gwen, Meka Drone, Akumi Defender (Guardian) and Akumi Warden (Support).
Pirates can now steal your buffs.
Molly now obtainable again. Her skill kit relies on stacking bleeds and activating them with her ult for big damage. Her default and special skills steal buffs from the enemy for herself.
When Algafoffthe or Braxus hit undead targets, they stun it and cast holy fire on all enemies.
When Tirax hits a human, he drains more life and casts poison on all enemies.
Bounty Hunters who attack humans and droids, mark them to take 100% more damage.
Most map nodes are not visible until unlocked. There are more hidden nodes to discover in each zone.
Spug City now has a Colosseum with extremely difficult random enemy encounters. Colosseum drops some enemies as rewards.
Preparation skills only work at the start of battle, cannot be activated manually anymore.
Many new upgrade skill recipes. New chipped gems, normal gems and perfect gems with different passive procs. and stats. Gems will fit into the Preparation slot. All can be upgraded early game for major boosts.
New bubble shield removing and preventing skills.
Hitting a target with bubble shield will create a new impact animation and sound effect.
New weather particle effects: rain, thunderstorm, snow, blizzard.
Some enemies need specific strategies to beat. All character stats will eventually be challenged.
Hunter Center unlocks in Zone 1! The backer bounty hunters are not in yet... but this is where they will be once they are.
All Guardian and Paladin default skill taunts now ignore resists.
Azumi’s Ultimate: strikes a single target six times for 5% ( was 15% ) of target's max health. The fifth hit stuns a random enemy while the last hit activates all burns and knocks a random enemy. Shock burn duration reduced from 2 to 1.
Molly’s default skill range increased from 1 to 2. Piracy: All Molly's attacks will steal a buff and apply it to herself with each hit. Stealing a team buff will apply the stolen buff to her whole team. Quick Wit: When critically, hit gains full turn meter. Adrenaline: At 50% health, Molly gains “Lucky Dodge”, significantly increasing her dodge and resistance 3 turns. Cooldown: 4. Focused: All attacks increase her critical hit chance and critical damage 10%. Max stacks: 10)
Skeez’s default attack gives double Gambit bonus with each shot. Gambit: 4% increased critical chance ( was 2%) and 2% critical damage (was 1%) for each attack he does. Max stacks: 40.) Accuracy debuff removed.
Skeez’s “Boomstick” skill gets an extra turn afterwards. Removed Critical chance bonus.
Skeez’s Ultimate: shoots a single target 5 times doing bonus damage for 30% of the target's lost health. These shots can knock the target down. Each shot also increases his turn meter by 10%.
At 75% health, Skeez gains “Lucky Dodge”. Significantly increasing his dodge and resistance 3 turns. Cooldown: 4
Paladin’s will now always stun undead targets and cast Holy Fire on the same target for more damage.
Jade’s “Scattershot”: Jade shoots 3 bolts at a single target. The first shot dissolve target's bubble shield. Last hit will remove all buffs. A second target will also be burned with each shot.
Jade’s “Hadron Collider” skill no longer pierces. Jade fires a bolt at her target that will knockdown and remove all buffs. Will burn a second target with the lowest health. Ignores shields and cannot miss.
Akumi Defender default skill range increased 1 to 2. Her ultimate range increased from 2 to 3. Her “Ironhide Taunt” will now ignore resists.
Akumi Warden’s “Dampening Strike” will now reduces a single target’s attack80% 1 turn. It will also remove any bubble shields and prevent bubble shields for 2 turns. Her default skill and second skill range increased 1 to 2.
Dwarf resistances majorly reduced. Skills: Reconstruct, Repairs, Invincible and all major defense buffs are on a long cooldowns. Resistances reduced. They can be taunted now. Still immune to stuns.
Demonkiss no longer has invincible before death. Resurrect allies on longer cooldown and no longer gives extra turn.
Demonkiss Shade’s resurrect allies on longer cooldown and no longer gives extra turn. Ultimate on a long cooldown
Spug Grunts proc fewer buffs when healed. Lower health pool.
Spug Sprite’s, Natural Cleanse, will now heal 40% of lost health.
Spug Guardians no longer precast attacks. Removed mass healing and shielding.
Spug Defender will precast mass bubble shields
Tecnic gains Battle Frenzy and Superior Defense if his wolf is killed. Wolves gain 50% turn meter when an ally dies.
Emeralds now passively heal the caster for percentage of their max health while maintaining it’s healing power and healing received bonuses.
Warrior Saint: Your attacks will heal the lowest health ally 24% of their lost health while your healing power is and healing received increases 5%. Max stacks: 10 (Similar to Drones Mending Bolt.)
Speed Demon gives extra turn when enemy dies. Cooldown removed.
Stoneshore Gateway: removed Souless and Demonkiss the Haunted as possible spawns.
Vengeance: Fight with Salty Skeltor now optional.
Western Kingdom renamed “Merc Quarters”. (Braxus encounter) is now optional.

Colosseum opens after Spug Prince cutscene.
Hero rewards now show the hero's stats
Rune Fusion shop added to Cragkeep Mountains. Unlocks after Grizzlespit’s upgrade shop. Take any 3 runes and fuse them for a chance at a stronger rune. This consumes the 3 runes used. The power of the 3 runes that we’re fused will determine the potential upgrade of the new rune.
Fara is now “Undead” will come back to life with 40% life when killed. If protected by invincible, the Undead passive will continue to proc for 3 turns. Cooldown: 7
Liv’s second skill “Heal Potions” heals 40% of lost health upon casting.
Drone’s second skill “Battle Ready” heals 40% of lost health upon casting.
Ironhide: All damage received increases physical defenses and resistances 30% and 5% magic defense. Max stacks: 20
New custom skill, Dragonskin: All damage received increases magic defenses and resistances 30% and 5% physical defense.
Max stacks: 20 (Can be found in shops.)
New custom skill, Vengeance: For each ally that dies, you gain 100% attack for 2 turns. Max stacks: 10 (Inspired by Caddeus idea) (Can be found in shops.)
Liv’s “Guardian Potion” should be more balanced with the Ironhide change. Previously, Ironhide gained 30% physical AND magical defense along with resistances which at max stacks negated all damage types. This made the guardian potion extremely effective. (Can be found in shops.)
Miltonius: any damage received, silences the attacker 1 turn.
Jade and Max heroes now have voice audio from the Akumi Xtreme episodes.

About the Stream
One of the backers rewards for the Ultimate Bounty Hunter Collector tier ($100 or above) was a series of live streams where we will draw some bounty hunters. See the tools and techniques I use to create art for Akumi Wars. We will meet in the video chat in Discord. You will need the special discord role that comes with your package. So be sure to give your discord code from BackerKit to Algaffofthe so he can give you the special role on the Akumi Wars Discord Server.

How do I get my special role on the Akumi Wars Discord Server?
If you backed at the Ultimate Bounty Hunter Tier or higher, check your rewards for a special Discord Code. Give that code to Algaffofthe (who is a Moderator) in a private message on our Discord Server. He will give you the special role.
Do I have to draw?
Nah, you do not have to draw. You are welcome to just watch & hang out. It'll be a very cozy private video stream on our Discord Server.
